Chilly Breeze to Cool Down Houston as Temperatures Take a Quick Dip Before Spring Warmth ReturnsSource: Google Street View

Houston residents can expect a swift change in weather as a cold front is set to sweep through the area later today, according to National Weather Service Houston. The transition will lead to cooler and less humid conditions following another stretch of warm and humid Southeast Texas weather. Highs are predicted to drop from today's steamy conditions. By Monday, temperatures are expected to climb back into the 80s.

Heading into the evening, the forecast from National Weather Service shows mostly clear skies with lows dipping around 58 degrees, and north winds picking up post-midnight. Residents looking forward to the weekend can enjoy sunny skies, with the mercury in the daytime floating in the mid-70s and night temperatures hovering just above 50 degrees.

The Storm Prediction Center reported that no severe thunderstorms are forecast across the contiguous United States for Friday. While showers and possibly a few thunderstorms may occur during the morning over the Carolinas and Georgia, organized severe weather is not expected as the front makes its way across the region.

In the span of a few days, the conditions will shift from balmy to brisk, then ascend back to the familiar warmth of spring in southeast Texas. The extended forecast calls for a mostly sunny start to next week, albeit with increasing clouds as we edge toward Wednesday, where highs will persist near the 81-degree mark.
