A Crowley man, identified as 23-year-old Theodore Tommy-Alemenar Garcia, has been charged with capital murder for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of Forney resident Jessica Campos, authorities reported. NBC DFW detailed that the incident in question unfolded in December 2023, when Campos was found dead in her own garage following a reported argument and subsequent gunfire exchange that also left another suspect, 17-year-old Andrew Chazarreta of Fort Worth, deceased.
In a statement that echoed through the narrative of duty and determination, Forney Police Chief Carrie White commended her detectives' efforts, stating, “The conclusion to this case was the result of the hard work and dedication of Forney Police Detectives they coordinated efforts with several jurisdictions to bring this suspect to justice," a spirit of community driving force behind the collective race towards a resolution that demanded justice for the grief-stricken faces of Forney. This statement was obtained by NBC DFW.
The murder narrative began on Dec. 17, when Forney police officers responded to the scene at around 10:30 p.m., located on the 100 block of Mandarin Street, only to discover Campos' lifeless body punctured by bullets in the stillness of her garage. The grim discovery came only an hour before authorities found Chazarreta, believed to be the shooter who killed Campos, dead from a gunshot wound in a 24-hour ER parking lot in Arlington.
After a meticulous investigation that spanned multiple jurisdictions, detectives linked Garcia to the crime and he was arrested on the 17th of February, as WFAA reports police are not pursuing any additional suspects in this closed chapter of tragedy and bereavement, a narrative that started with an altercation escalated into violent finality and now rests with the call for justice in the solemn chambers of law and order amid the continuing, yet often silent, cries of those left in the wake of such violence.
