Tanasia Bush, 33, was stabbed by her boyfriend during a domestic dispute and later succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital. The boyfriend, Phillip Hickman, was treated for a gunshot wound and released, according to Harris County Sheriff's Office post on X.

The altercation that claimed Bush's life occurred at the 5500 block of Lakota Trail, where deputies responded to the scene. In the aftermath, Hickman provided a statement to investigators, an account corroborated by witnesses. A grand jury referral was planned once the investigation concluded.
However, the story took another grim turn when Hickman, described by family as distraught, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a school parking lot on the 14700 block of Woodforest. As family members approached, the shooting occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
