A car reportedly tore through the stillness of a Cypress, Texas, neighborhood, flipping and crashing into a garage on Ravensway Drive, officials said. The Cypress Creek Fire Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday. In a bizarre twist, the driver managed to extricate himself from the wreckage without injury, officials noted.
The vehicle, described by authorities as speeding, lost control before it veered into the property at 12903 Ravensway Drive, according to Click2Houston. The detached garage bore the brunt of the crash, with the homeowner's car also entombed under debris. Remarkably, the homeowner, an older female, and the driver walked away from the crash unscathed.
Fox26Houston reports that after the crash, local officials assessed the garage structure to be compromised. Authorities await daylight for insurance evaluators and contractors to inspect and determine a safe method for removing the damaged vehicle from the property.
While fortune seemed to favor the occupants on this occasion, the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. No mention has yet been made regarding potential charges or the full extent of the damages incurred by the late-night calamity.
