Duncanville is hosting its Dark in the Park Solar Eclipse Festival, set to take the city by storm with a two-day event filled with music, zip-lining, and of course, the main event—a total solar eclipse. This thrilling festival will take place at Armstrong Park from Sunday, April 7, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM to Monday, April 8, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, according to the City of Duncanville.
With The Emerald City Band scheduled to perform, known for entertaining crowds from the White House to the Super Bowl, the kick-off party on Sunday evening is guaranteed to pump up the crowd. Excited by the upcoming eclipse, Duncanville officials shared with their official site details of the tailgate party featuring vendors, family activities, and a zipline adventure that will be available against the night sky - a perfect set-up for the celestial festivities.
Not to drop the ball, Duncanville will continue the hype into Monday with a Solar Eclipse Watch Party as Armstrong Park reopens for the eclipse gazing. "The first 2,500 attendees to arrive will receive free eclipse sunglasses to make sure everyone has a safe viewing of the eclipse," Duncanville City Manager Douglas E. Finch told the City of Duncanville.
Mayor Barry L. Gordon expressed his enthusiasm for Duncanville's monumental event, "The City of Duncanville is thrilled to host Dark in the Park and welcome the community and visitors to Armstrong Park for this extraordinary celebration," in a statement obtained by the City of Duncanville. The festival's grand finale will be the eclipse itself, with a professional DJ set to keep the atmosphere as lively as the skies will be dark.
