It was a high-tech game of cat and mouse for the Fairfield Police Department as they deployed a drone to collar a burglary suspect following a chase through the streets of California. Their target, 22-year-old Arglister Cheatham, allegedly led officers on a car chase after being wanted for burglary in the neighboring city of Vacaville. His escape plan was cut short due to a combination of unsafe speeds and strategically placed spike strips by law enforcement on Red Top Road.

Despite his attempt to outmaneuver the authorities by fleeing on foot and finding a hideout between two hills, Cheatham couldn't evade the electronic eye hovering above. According to a post on the Fairfield Police Department's Facebook page, an officer maneuvered the drone to find and guide ground units to the suspect's location. "Although he hid between two hill tops - he couldn’t hide from the eyes in the sky," the department quipped in their brief recount of the incident.

Cheatham's surrender was inevitable as the combined forces of the officers and a police K9 closed in on his makeshift hideout. The suspect and the other two passengers found in the car were apprehended and transported to County Jail, all without further complications.
