Law enforcement in Harris County have taken a wanted man off the streets after discovering him in possession of narcotics. Elliot Burgos, who was already wanted for evading arrest, was nabbed by a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Special Operations Unit on January 30, 2024. The suspect was located acting suspiciously in the 400 block of FM 1960 Road West, and promptly identified as the individual with an outstanding felony warrant.

Upon further investigation the authorities found that Burgos was in possession of crack cocaine. The constables also uncovered that he was currently out on a measly $100.00 bond for a prior charge of Criminal Trespass when he was arrested. The discovery of drugs led to additional charges being piled onto Burgos's rap sheet.

"Elliot Burgos was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, for the open warrant and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance," Constable Mark Herman stated in an update posted to their official Facebook page. According to the social media announcement, the arrest was part of a focused effort by the local law enforcement to track down and apprehend individuals with outstanding warrants.

The district court took a firmer stance this time around with the suspect's bond. Burgos's bond was set at $2,000.00 out of the 488th District Court, reflecting the severity, of his alleged crimes and his flight risk given the previous charge of Evading Arrest. The tightening of the financial leash suggests an intention to keep Burgos in custody until his day in court arrives. As the judicial process grinds forward, Burgos waits behind bars for the opportunity to answer to these latest accusations.
