HARRIS COUNTY, TX - A routine traffic pat-down led to a drug bust last week when local law enforcement snagged a man for drinking and driving—along with a little extra illegal cargo. Constable Mark Herman's deputies arrested Antonio Rivera-Espinoza, who failed to navigate the straight and narrow, both on the roadway and under the law.

On January 27, deputies pulled over Rivera-Espinoza's vehicle on the 1900 block of Greenhouse Road. Suspicions arose as the driver showed clear signs he was under the influence, prompting officers to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Rivera-Espinoza's performance was lackluster, confirming suspicions that he wasn't simply high on life.

The stop also unearthed 2.5 grams of cocaine, an incriminating find that led to Rivera-Espinoza's charges for both Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The stakes were high, but so, apparently, was Rivera-Espinoza.

Constable Herman didn't mince words about the incident. "Antonio Rivera-Espinoza was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail," the constable's statement read. As if navigating the criminal justice maze wasn't daunting enough, now Rivera-Espinoza finds his bond set at a steep $2,100.00 out of the 179th District Court and County Court 7, according to Herman's official Facebook post.
