A man was brought to justice for the cold-blooded killing of another in a quiet Houston neighborhood as the new year rang in. According to cityofhouston.news, authorities have slapped Hugo Daniel Bahena Dominguez, 25, with murder charges for the deadly late-night attack that occurred in December last year.
The life of Eric Colin, 30, came to a tragically abrupt end following multiple gunshot wounds sustained in a parking lot of a local restaurant. It was around midnight on December 22, 2023, when officers responded to the grim scene. After being dumped at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital by an unidentified woman, the medics' efforts were in vain, as Colin was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division's own Sergeant M. Wilson and Detective M. Castillo led the intensive hunt for Colin's killer.
Determined to solve the case, thorough police work soon linked Bahena Dominguez to the shooting. The case was brought before the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the gears of justice began turning; Bahena Dominguez found himself officially charged. In a display of the law's unyielding reach, Bahena Dominguez was apprehended by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force as January drew to a close.
