Busted in the dollar aisle! A classic game of hide and seek between cops and a crook wrapped up inside a Dollar General Store on FM 1960 Road West, where law enforcement put the cuffs on a man accused of burglarizing a vehicle. It went down on the last day of January when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's office were called to a reported car break-in.
The suspect didn’t make it far, though; a vigilant witness pointed out the man had dashed off into the nearby discount store, and that's where deputies made the apprehension. The suspect, one Tresvant Threadgill, was found among the aisles of household bargains and immediately recognized as the perpetrator responsible for the burglary.
In a statement obtained by Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page, the alleged perp was "arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary Motor Vehicle," and they didn’t waste no time setting his bond. The accused now waits to answer for his crime, as justice doesn't bargain even if it finds you in a bargain store.
While Threadgill might have hoped for an easy escape, the quick response of the deputies ensured that the only deal he got was a trip downtown, the wheels of justice following close like shadows hot on Houston's pavement, and there are no discounts on accountability. The Harris County Jail now lists Threadgill as a guest, and the bond set ensures he stays put until his day in court arrives to claim its due.
