After nearly three years of investigation, the manhunt for a murder suspect came to a close as police apprehended 48-year-old Wallick Eli Thompson, linking him to the March 2021 murder of William Satterfield, whose body was found behind a Green Meadow Lane residence, authorities announced.
Thompson is facing murder charges in the 248th State District Court, with the alleged crime scene unfolding at the 838 Green Meadow Lane address, where officers responding to a 9:30 a.m. call on March 12, 2021, discovered Satterfield unresponsive and later declared him dead at the scene with concrete mix on his upper body, Satterfield was 35 years old, and the case has been under the scrutiny of the HPD Homicide Division led by Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective L. Lovelace.
A breakthrough in the case came when Thompson was charged on November 30, 2023, with involvement in Satterfield's death, however, the details leading to his apprehension remained unspecified until recently.
South Central patrol officers were the ones to finally nab Thompson, who had been on the radar for his suspected role in the fatal encounter, on February 10, as confirmed by an official statement from the Houston Police Department; he was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail, his booking photo has been circulated in conjunction with the news release.
