Law enforcement officials in Houston are on the hunt for 38-year-old Ethan Tutson, who faces charges for a shooting that wounded a woman last November, as reported by the City of Houston News. Accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon, Tutson is currently at large, with authorities releasing a booking photo from May 2022 to aid in his capture.
The altercation that led to the shooting unfolded at approximately 5:05 p.m. on November 28, 2023, at 11239 Crown Park Drive; the victim, a 51-year-old woman, fortunately survived and was released after receiving hospital treatment. After being flagged down by the victim and a witness, HPD officers learned that the confrontation began as a verbal spat between Tutson and the witness, it rapidly spiraled into a violent clash, during which the victim got between them to prevent further escalation, but as she and the witness walked away, that's when Tutson allegedly pulled out a handgun and opened fire multiple times.
The alleged assailant, who has a history of firearm possession, is known to drive notably distinctive vehicles—a maroon Dodge Charger with Texas plates NSV8830, and possibly also a gray or tan Chevrolet Impala, although the plates on the latter are unknown. The Houston Police Department, working alongside the Harris County District Attorney's Office, managed to charge Tutson after conducting a thorough investigation, HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer S. Elias detailed the incident in a report.
With Ethan Tutson evading authorities, there's a pressing call for public assistance. Anyone with knowledge regarding Tutson's whereabouts or the case itself is encouraged to reach out to the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or make an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS; the police are offering rewards for information leading to his capture, reiterating the urgency and gravity of this public safety concern.
