Houston authorities have intensified the manhunt for a gunman responsible for a December shooting that left a man seriously injured. According to the City of Houston news release, the incident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on December 30, 2023, at an apartment complex on Hussion Street. The police are now seeking the public's assistance in identifying the assailant caught on surveillance video.
The suspect is on the loose, described as a slim-built black male, his height ranging between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet. Masked and attired in a dark hoodie paired with gray sweatpants at the time of the crime, the suspect's image has since been disseminated in the hope of a break in the case. The 39-year-old victim, who was a security guard working at the complex, is currently on the road to recovery, expected to survive the critical gunshot wounds he sustained.
Details regarding the case were provided by HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives T. Forsythe and J. Windham. Officers who were called to the scene discovered the security guard suffering from the gunshot injuries. The Houston Fire Department paramedics promptly transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
