Norco, CA – A clandestine cannabis operation was busted in the quiet streets of Norco after deputies hit a local business with a search warrant. Inside, they found a veritable forest of pot plants – 1,373 to be exact – as well as thirty pounds of processed marijuana ready to hit the streets, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.
The swoop was the result of diligent detective work by the Norco Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team, who descended upon the 600 block of Parkridge Avenue on February 22nd, unearthing the illegal grow operation. In a statement obtained by Riverside Sheriff's Department press release, Sergeant Julio Olguin detailed the discovery of "indicia of the sales of marijuana," alongside the hefty crop and processed stash.
Three men – Duong Nguyen, 40, Coung Nguyen, 38, both Santa Ana locals, and Khang Do, 41, of Fountain Valley – were cuffed and now face the music at Robert Presley Detention Center, booked on charges of marijuana cultivation and marijuana sales. However, the saga isn't over, as this is an ongoing investigation, and authorities have yet to sweep all the dirt on this case.
The department's press release reminds us that "Community Policing" thrives on snitches, urging business owners and residents to squeal on suspected criminal activity by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776–1099, or dialing 911 if they're staring down the barrel of an emergency. Tipsters with the inside scoop on this case can ring up Deputy Linzey at the Norco Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 270–5673.
For those craving more details and juicy follow-ups, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department is playing it close to the vest, but they suggest keeping an eye on the Media Information Bureau for updates. The full report can be plucked from their official website here.
