Keller's Planning & Zoning Commission has got its hands full with a couple of public hearings slated for February 13, where the hot items on the agenda include a Unified Development Code revamp and the green light for a new accessory dwelling unit. The Keller City Council is mulling over some serious updates to the code that could shake things up in the Town Center Zoning District, along with citywide implications for spas and medical spas, according to the City of Keller.
On the residential front, the focus narrows down to 509 Holly Ct., where a specific use permit is on the table. This permit would effectively allow a new accessory dwelling unit to stand on a spacious 2.15 acres. The lot, tucked away on the north side of Holly Court, some 450 feet from the hustle of Barbara Lane, is up for a transformation that has locals talking. The property owner, John Knipp, and the applicant, David Riley, are hoping to move forward with their plans.
Those looking to weigh in on these potential changes, or simply to stay in the know, should mark their calendars for 7 p.m. on that Tuesday night. The council chambers within Keller Town Hall at 1100 Bear Creek Pkwy will open their doors to the public for this discussion. In anticipation, the complete agenda for the meeting will hit the web on Thursday, February 8.
For anyone with questions or in need of further clarification, Keller's Community Development department is on standby. They can be reached at a direct line of 817-743-4130. Whether it's queries about the zoning modifications or the specific use permit, the department is poised to provide residents with the information they need to navigate through the changes shaping their city's landscape.
