League City on Alert as Police Search for Two Teens Accused of Threatening Preschool

League City, Texas is on high alert as police actively search for two teenagers accused of making threats against a local preschool. According to a report by Click2Houston, the suspects, identified as 16-year-olds Otis Edlund and Quintin Wyrick, are believed to have stolen a vehicle and firearms from a Wyoming residence and may be heading towards the Galveston County town.

The teen duo allegedly fled in a 1969 white Chevrolet Chevelle with Wyoming plates. Amarillo Police Department alerted the community at 11:25 a.m. yesterday about "a community threat resulting from information from Wyoming," and emphasized that "wanted subjects (that) could possibly be traveling from Wyoming to League City, Texas." However, no direct threat to Amarillo or its surrounding area has been identified. Despite the absence of "actionable threats," local, state, and federal agencies have not hesitated to fully engage in the search for the suspects, striving to ensure the safety of League City's students as a new week dawns. This collaboration and urgency were echoed in a statement obtained by ABC13, citing efforts to "work with other agencies in tracking down these juveniles throughout the weekend to ensure the safety of students in schools in League City."

The League City Police Department disclosed information about the alleged threat after receiving details similar regularly to those reported by other Texas police departments. Despite no discernible link between the teenagers and the Galveston County town, law enforcement is taking all precautions seriously. The Galveston County Sheriff's Office, with deputies acting as School Liaison Officers for the Clear Creek Independent School District, is working closely with the local police to mitigate any potential threats.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Edlund and Wyrick or the distinctive car they are believed to be driving. In light of the current situation, LCPD assured the community, through a statement, that they are "doing its due diligence regardless of whether the threat was real."
