
A midnight marauder turned a Long Beach residence into a crime scene, firing shots that landed a local man in the hospital, police reported. The drama unfolded in the 00 block of 38th Place around 12:53 a.m. Cops say the unidentified gunman barged into the victim's home, unleashed a barrage of bullets, and escaped into the night, according to the LBPD Blotter.
The victim, who suffered undisclosed injuries, was rushed to the hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department and is currently in stable condition. In a statement, the authorities noted, "Officers began an investigation and recovered evidence from the shooting." Yet, the assailant's identity and the motive behind the attack remain shrouded in mystery. Detectives have been scouring the area for witnesses and surveillance that might shed light on the incident.
The LBPD urged locals to be the eyes and ears of justice, calling for anyone with a tip to dial detectives at 562.570.7370.
