
A sudden blaze that engulfed the second floor and attic of a medical office building in Koreatown was swiftly brought under control by the Los Angeles Fire Department within 24 minutes, officials said. The fire was reported at approximately 3:04 PM on February 2nd at 817 S Vermont Avenue, with direct information from LAFD's alert specifying smoke rising from the second floor of the structure.
It took a mere 24 minutes and the concerted efforts of 34 firefighters to access, contain, and fully extinguish the flames, notably without causing any injuries, a firefighting feat indeed while, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, there were reports of roofers performing hot work prior to the incident, as per official statements. The building, a two-story edifice spanning 3,616 square feet, was evacuated as LAFD teams tackled the fire.
The intensity of the situation prompted a Greater Alarm response, denoting the severe potential risk, but no civilians or firefighters sustained injuries during the ordeal. Personnel from numerous units, including emergency medical services and urban search and rescue teams, were dispatched to the scene, as detailed by LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphrey.
