In the predawn hours of Thursday, a car reported stolen from Tinseltown was tracked down and its driver busted in Victorville, authorities said. Destiny Desiree Ramirez, a 24-year-old Los Angeles resident, found her freedom cut short when deputies, acting on an alert, pulled over the purloined ride near Mariposa Road and Nisqually Road at about 3:55 am, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported.
According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, the quick-acting deputies from the Victorville station identified the vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Hollywood and made their move, detaining Ramirez without incident, who was not only booked for P.C. 496D(A) possession of a stolen vehicle but also there was an outstanding felony warrant for her arrest out of Ventura County related to larceny.
The Victorville Police Station is now asking anyone with further information about the incident to contact them at (760)241-2911 or reach out to Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760)956-5001, tipping the balance in favor of justice. They've also provided an option for anonymous tipsters to dial up the We-Tip hotline at 1-800-78CRIME or to visit the website at www.wetip.com, where secrets can be shared without sharing a name.
The case, which has been assigned case number 172401362, has been taken over by Deputy G. Wolff and Deputy D. Ruiz of the Victorville Police Station, as indicated in the press release, Ramirez is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center awaiting the next steps in her legal journey, steps that might weigh heavy given the dual charges she's facing connected to last Thursday's early morning encounter.
