A Rancho Cucamonga neighborhood shaken by gunfire has led to the arrest of a man on prostitution charges. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department reports that the police were called to the 7500 block of Lockhaven Avenue on January 31 following reports of shots fired. The investigation into the incident turned up something else: alleged prostitution activity helmed by Jorge Villa Gutierrez, a 30-year-old local man.
Having received multiple We-Tip reports about the Lockhaven Avenue residence, deputies had already been eyeing the place for suspicious activities purportedly diminishing the area's quality of life. Responding to one such call about a shooting, they found no shooter, only the evidence that would ensnare Gutierrez. According to the initial report, the deputies' investigation culminated on February 20, 2024, with Gutierrez's arrest.
Behind the residential facade, it appears, was a backdrop for a sex trade operation, disrupting what neighbors expected: tranquility and safety. With Gutierrez now booked at West Valley Detention Center under the charge of PC647(b)(2) - Prostitution, authorities hope to have put a damper on these illicit affairs.
The incident, while closing a chapter on Gutierrez's alleged activities, still leaves the book open on the identity of the shooter, who remains at large.
