The Santa Rosa Police Department is reaching out to the public for help in their search for a missing elderly man, William Gunther, who disappeared from his home on the 5000 block of Montgomery Drive between noon and 4:30 pm yesterday, February 12. Gunther, at a venerable 101 years old, stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs around 155 pounds, and sports white hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was donning an unspecified colored sweatshirt. Official concern is high due to his advanced age, deteriorating health, and mental health concerns.
William was last seen driving a white 2018 Subaru Legacy with the California license plate number 8CWR708, and it is believed he could be heading towards Goat Rock Beach in Jenner. In response to his reported disappearance, both the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and the California State Parks Police have been looped in, widening the search scope.
The call to locate Gunther has grown urgent, with the Santa Rosa Police Department urging anyone who might catch sight of William to immediately call them at 707-528-5222. Brett Siwy, a department sergeant, handles media inquiries and can be reached at [email protected]. The case has been assigned the number SRPD 24-1744. Further details of the missing person bulletin were disseminated through the department’s Facebook page.
The community’s assistance is critical in efforts like these, situations where time is of the essence, and every passing moment can make the difference between relief, and continued distress for worried families.
