The National Weather Service in Seattle predicts a "40 percent chance of rain, mainly between 10 am and 5 pm." Despite the mostly cloudy skies, temperatures are expected to inch toward a relatively mild 52 degrees with a gentle northerly breeze.
Those planning evening events might have to contend with more than just a case of Mondays. Weather officials anticipate "a 30 percent chance of rain after 2 am," suggesting that tonight’s lows hovering around 41 degrees may come with damp conditions. And while the wind is expected to settle down as it shifts from north-northeast to a calmer, variable direction, locals may find the unpredictability a bit unsettling.
As the week progresses, Seattleites should keep their umbrellas close, as NWS Seattle warns of more impending rain. Tuesday is likely to see showers, particularly "after 8 am" with "new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible," while the chance of precipitation climbs to 70%. With the high again near 53 and winds picking up from the south, there’s little respite expected from the gloomy conditions.
Into Tuesday night, rain remains likely, this time "mainly before 10 pm," and though the showers might be more pronounced with "new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible," Seattleites will endure yet another bout of wet weather. Southeast winds will slightly increase to 6 to 8 mph, perhaps a faint balm for those looking for any sign of an imminent spring.
The remainder of the week does not promise much in the way of relief, with "rain likely, mainly before 4 pm" on Wednesday, and a misty outlook lingering into Wednesday night. Yet, there's a glimmer of hope towards the week's end, as Thursday's skies are forecast to clear, ushering in "mostly sunny" weather and a more agreeable high of 54 degrees.
