In the early hours of darkness, while most of Seattle slumbered, a group of attempted burglars found themselves thwarted by the Seattle Police. An attempted break-in at a cannabis business located in SODO was foiled when the owner, vigilantly monitoring security cameras off-site, called 911 to report the crime. As reported by the Seattle Police Blotter, the police arrived swiftly at the 2700 block of 6th Place South and managed to capture only one of several suspects as the rest scattered, trying to disappear into the night.
Despite the suspects' desperate attempts to quickly flee, police officers were able to chase one 27-year-old male suspect on foot, leading to what would only later be revealed as a more complex past. With a criminal record shadowing his steps, the suspect carried an outstanding warrant for previous wrongdoings, including possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest. He was ultimately booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
The scene at the cannabis business was chaotic upon the officers' arrival, with several suspects taking to their heels and two getaway vehicles unexpectedly tearing away from the scene. A search conducted by the officers confirmed that the suspects were unable to gain entry to the building thanks to the swift intervention of law enforcement. An abandoned vehicle was found at the scene.
Seattle police are now looking to untangle the remaining threads of this case as they tirelessly work to identify the other suspects in this late-night escapade. As relayed by Seattle police, the investigation has continued as an active endeavor, with detectives combing through evidence and leads. The captured suspect's presence at the King County Jail signifies only the first step in bringing those responsible to justice for their attempted burglary.
