Seattle residents are bracing for a damp and dreary week as showers continue to dominate the forecast. Today's showers are expected to persist mostly before 11 am, with a high near 53 degrees and a calm wind shifting south-southeast. The chance of precipitation is high, estimated at 80%, although new precipitation amounts should be less than a tenth of an inch.
Tonight, the wet weather is likely to intensify, showers mainly coming after midnight with a low temperature hovering around 44 degrees and an east wind blowing around 5 mph; the likelihood of precipitation sticks at a stubborn 70%. By mid-week, the city wouldn't get much of a respite with showers anticipated mainly before 4 pm Wednesday, and a high of around 52 degrees, the southeast wind blowing between 6 to 8 mph, the moisture doesn't ease up with precipitation chances staying firm at 80%.
The National Weather Service Seattle forecast shows that by Wednesday night showers might take a minor break with a 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10 pm, giving Seattle dwellers a temporary sigh of relief. Thursday will offer a glimpse of the sun amidst partly sunny skies and a more agreeable high near 55, with light winds making a pleasant shift in the afternoon.
As the week draws to a close, Friday promises mostly sunny conditions with temps near 53 degrees leading into a partly cloudy night with lows around 40, but these clear skies won't hold long into the weekend as Saturday sees a slight chance of rain after 4 pm and rain likely, mainly after 4 am Sunday. The weekend will gradually tilt once again towards gloom with Sunday raining in and a high around 48; the week ahead forecasts rain and snow, so they are mostly cloudy, with temperatures tipping just slightly warmer at 46 degrees on Monday.
