
A devastating car crash on Richmond Avenue has claimed the lives of two individuals in Houston yesterday night. Police disclosed that a black Toyota Camry collided with a gray Toyota Scion around 8:10 p.m., which led to fatal consequences, as reported by cityofhouston.news.
The unidentified female driver, 30, of the Scion and a male passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their names are being withheld until the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences can confirm their identities. Two children, aged 5 and 10, were also in the Scion during the incident. They were rushed to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Sergeant J. Richards and Officer T. Pham of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division are handling the investigation. After the Camry hit the Scion from behind, the latter vehicle crashed into a tree, and the Camry smashed into another tree a short distance away, as detailed in the initial report.
The 19-year-old driver of the Camry, who was not found to be impaired, survived the ordeal and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. As of now, no charges have been filed, and the Houston police continue to delve into the particulars of this tragic accident.
