Vallejo Police have cuffed a juvenile after a shooting last month that left another minor with a gunshot wound to the face. Officials confirm the incident unfolded at Vallejo's Washington Park on January 15, and the suspect was nabbed only after a string of detective work and police action.
Responding to the midday violence, Vallejo's finest discovered the wounded youth had been whisked away to hospital by family before cops even hit the scene. Hospital staff stabilized the victim, who was then shuffled off to Oakland Children's for advanced care, surviving against the grim odds such injuries carry.
Digging deep, the Vallejo Police Department's sleuths connected the dots and laid the blame at the feet of the juvenile they've recently detained. An arrest warrant for attempted homicide and robbery was earned, cutting through the bureaucratic red tape to bring the suspect into custody, according to details acquired from the department's Facebook page announcement.
