The Vallejo Police Department cracked down on illegally parked vehicles in North Vallejo, towing away seventeen cars reported through the community app See Click Fix, in an effort to clean up the neighborhood streets on February 16. The police, aided by a team that included one cadet and a citizen on patrol, checked a list of 107 vehicles that had been flagged on the app for various violations.

During the sweep, the majority of the vehicles, 87 to be exact, were gone by the time the officers arrived on the scene. Still, those remaining were examined and determined to violate local parking rules, resulting in them being towed, while one stolen vehicle was also fortuitously recovered after the operation as it unfolded, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

The Facebook post mentioned that the tow operation focused on vehicles previously reported by the community, hinting at the fact that the police department is actively utilizing technology and community input to target problematic areas and issues.

Local residents of North Vallejo have frequently voiced concerns over abandoned and illegally parked vehicles that create unsafe conditions and diminish the quality of life. The department's swift action to address these community reports illustrates an ongoing effort to improve neighborhood safety and aesthetics.
