Get ready to kick off your spring with some groove and twang as the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival rolls out its lineup for its 32nd annual bash. Music legends and fresh talents are slated to take over Galatyn Park Urban Center from May 17-19. The widely anticipated event promises to deliver a spectrum of sound from Nile Rodgers & CHIC's disco-soul hooks to the Texas country vibes of the Randy Rogers Band, according to the City of Richardson, Texas.
Randy Rogers Band is all set to bring the taste of Texas with tracks from their latest album "Homecoming," bearing tunes like "Small Town Girl Goodbye." AWOLNATION, known for the explosive hit "Sail," and indie darlings GROUPLOVE with their anthem "Tongue Tied," are among the top acts headlining the festival. Even with dozens of shows under their belt every year, KC and the Sunshine Band continue to entertain audiences as they were doing fifty years back.
The festival isn't just tossing out names, they're serving up a full platter of musical entrées ranging from the funk-disco blends of Sister Sledge to the tribute vibes of STRANGELOVE – The Depeche Mode Experience. Folk, rock, and even a Beatles tribute band, The Zepplin Project, will grace the stages, creating an eclectic mix that has something for nearly every palette.
No need to break the bank if you're looking to enjoy some live music. With tickets reasonably priced at $25 for single-day general admission on Friday or Saturday, it's a sweet deal for a day jam-packed with entertainment. Richardson residents, don't miss out on grabbing your $15 special, available only for a limited time. For those who fancy the high roller experience, $400 will score you a VIP package complete with prime seats and complimentary refreshments.
Coordinated by the City of Richardson Parks & Recreation Department, Wildflower! has a history stretching back to 1993, evolving from a quaint community event into one of the cornerstones of the region's cultural calendar. With free parking and the DART Red Line dropping festivalgoers right at the doorstep, getting there is a breeze. Attendees can look forward to letting loose in the evenings kicking off at 6 p.m. or soaking up the Texas sun with performances starting as early as 11 a.m. on the weekend days.
