Arlington On-Demand has got you covered with their new weekly and monthly ride passes. The city's on-demand rideshare transit service is simplifying local travel, offering up to four rides a day for a flat rate – that's a mere $25 for a week or $80 for the entire month. As folks around town look to stretch their dollars, this could be the ticket to commuting with more ease and less strain on the wallet, according to the City of Arlington, Texas.
Running since 2017, the service formerly known as Via Rideshare has been ferrying passengers to their choice of destinations – be it the office, shopping centers, or medical appointments. It eases the commute for residents, students, and visitors aiming for key spots in what's dubbed 'The City of the American Dream.' Despite a growing population, and the traffic that comes with it, Arlington On-Demand insists on providing a level playing field for access to transit, enabling connections to Dallas, Fort Worth, and places beyond through key points like the CentrePort TRE station.
The initiative is now in its sixth successful year, persisting in its mission to offer equitable, flexible transit without the constraints of fixed routes and schedules. Operated by Via Transportation, the platform smartly groups passengers heading in similar directions, ensuring that you're never more than a couple of blocks from your pick-up or drop-off point.
If you're on the go, you can hail a ride six days a week either through the Arlington Transportation app or by punching in 817-784-7382 on your phone. Mark your calendars, workaholics and weekend warriors alike, service runs from 6 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and a more leisurely 9 am to 9 pm stint on Saturdays.
For those not opting for the passes, Arlington On-Demand has a straightforward pricing model for single journeys. It'll set you back at least $3 for short hops of up to 1.5 miles, and no more than $5 for treks over 6 miles. Regulars on the Arlington to CentrePort route are looking at a solid $3 fee, regardless of travel length. In a city on the move, Arlington On-Demand seems aimed to keep its populace rolling without a hit to their budgets.
