Austin's SXSW Merges Faith with Film and Music at Sunday SVC Event in Stubb's BarbecueSource: Sunday SVC

South by Southwest isn't just about the tech, film, and music mash-ups – it's getting a dose of the divine with Sunday SVC, a faith-based happening in the heart of Austin's wildest week. Hosted at Stubb's Barbecue over the weekend, Sunday SVC is set to serve up a blend of inspirational music by The Choir Room, barbecue, and conversations aimed at connecting faith and work.  The event, which spotlights big names in both sports and music, is an official part of the SXSW lineup, offering attendees a unique opportunity to refuel both body and soul, according to KXAN.

Zac Jiwa, the organizing partner of Sunday SVC, revealed in an interview with KXAN's Britt Moreno the motivation behind the gathering – SXSW's missing piece for believers needing a space to come together and reflect during the fest's frenetic pace, and he emphasized the importance of providing a venue where, especially on Sundays, attendees can explore and nourish their faith. The event's slate includes a smorgasbord of attractions from faith-focused panels featuring Texas Longhorn stars to musical performances that cap off with Cory Morrow on Saturday and then on Sunday the audience can catch Tauren Wells and For King & Country, who's also premiering their film "Unsung Hero."

Sporting a collision of Texas pride and spirituality, Saturday's lineup boasts Longhorn legends like Bijan Robinson and Charles Omenihu, conversing on a 'faith on the field' panel, followed by a Shark Tank-style segment dubbed 'Faith Tank' for entrepreneurs with a spiritual bent. Jiwa spilled the beans on the guest list, which is replete with influential athletes, faith-driven entertainers, and a headlining act by the two-time Grammy award-winning duo For King & Country, as per KXAN.
