A brutal attack in Greenbrae involving an axe-wielding man has culminated in a police takedown, officials say. Yesterday, just past mid-morning, Central Marin Police received a distress call about a suspicious character armed with an axe along Industrial Way/Rich Street. As officers hurried to the scene, multiple additional calls flooded the lines, reporting a break-in and assault at a nearby business establishment.
Swiftly upon their arrival, cops found the suspect detained by courageous expressions from the involved company's staff. They had managed to restrain the axe-holder, later identified as 54-year-old Scott Scibilia of Petaluma, who allegedly launched an assault on an individual inside the building. The attack left the victim with serious injuries to the face, needing immediate medical attention, but is expected to make a recovery.
The Central Marin Police repor, released on their Facebook page, stated that Scibilia now faces multiple charges. These include attempted murder, criminal threats, violation of a court order, burglary, and even committing a felony during bail/release.
