In a drunken rage, a man from Cadillac, Michigan, is behind bars after authorities say he assaulted several people, including a law enforcement officer. Jack Alan Duncan Jr., 37, now faces a slew of charges, including domestic violence and assaulting an officer, in a domestic incident gone violent. According to WWJ Newsradio, the Michigan State Police were called to a home on 13th Street in Selma Township around 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday, where the intoxicated Duncan allegedly turned violent after being denied contact with a woman at the residence.
Not long after arriving, "observed a man walking in the back door of the residence" who matched the suspect's description, state police said. Immediately taken into custody, Duncan's actions escalated when he began to kick out the window of a patrol car, prompting law enforcement to roll down the window to avoid further damage, reports upnorthlive. Nevertheless, Duncan continued his tirade, breaking the car's side mirror.
The series of assaults began earlier at a private home where Duncan, described as "highly intoxicated," allegedly lashed out at two members of the household and another woman, according to accounts from the victims. Sooleader reports that Cherry Grove EMS treated the injured on the scene, with one person requiring hospitalization for further assessment at Cadillac Hospital.
Ensuing the chaos at the residence, Duncan was moved to the back seat of another patrol vehicle that featured a partition, which perhaps, police hoped would curtail his destructive impulses. However, his aggressive behavior continued upon arrival at the Wexford County Jail, where Duncan is said to have assaulted a corrections officer. He has since been arraigned on multiple charges, including two counts of assault and battery, and his bond is set at $50,000. Duncan's next court appearance is scheduled for March 26, according to the authorities.
