
An injured hiker found herself in dire straits at Skyline Park yesterday, but a quick and efficient response by CHP's Golden Gate Division Air Operations ensured her timely rescue. H-30, the division's helicopter, was dispatched to the park, located in Napa County, after reports of the solitary hiker's mishap reached local emergency services.
Napa State Hospital Fire crews, along with AMR Napa County, were also at the scene, ready to assist in the rescue effort. With precise GPS coordinates relayed by Cal Fire St Helena Dispatch, the H-30 team was able to swiftly pinpoint the injured hiker. A flight officer and paramedic were lowered to the ground to provide the necessary medical assistance. The woman, who had sustained minor injuries, was hoisted back into the aircraft and delivered to a waiting ambulance below.
The hiker's injuries were reported to be minor, and she was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment, though details regarding her current condition have not been disclosed.
