Get ready to paint the town, because Dallas Arts Month is coming back with a burst of culture this April. Today, the city announced its 11-year arts affair in a press conference live-streamed from none other than the Dallas City Hall. Forget quiet galleries; think live performances, folkloric dance, and some poetic pizzazz from the city's own Poet Laureate, Joaquin Zihuatanejo.

In what has become an eagerly anticipated urban tradition, the festivities are all set to start come noon, with public officials including Councilmembers Omar Narvaez, Jesse Moreno, Paul Ridley, and Jaynie Schultz slated to give remarks. Omar Narvaez offered a tasty morsel to culture vultures everywhere, "I encourage all to immerse themselves in new artistic expressions and embrace the myriad of opportunities available during Dallas Arts Month," according to the City of Dallas.

The month's agenda promises to fully showcase Dallas's rich, artsy heartbeat since its beginnings in 2013. This bonanza is not just to watch and clap, but to experience and participate. Aligned with that sentiment, the prodigal presser also teased the upcoming rollout of Culture Pass Dallas. The pass will be like a VIP ticket to the city's treasure trove of galleries, theaters, and concert halls, inviting Dallasites and visitors to experience everything from canvas to choreography.

"Representing the Dallas Arts District, I am proud to support the arts and encourage residents to partake in the many arts events happening across the city," Paul Ridley stated, per the City of Dallas. Meanwhile, the Office of Arts and Culture Director Martine Elyse Phillipe added her voice to hype up the local talent, "From multi-day film festivals and art gallery openings, to live music and dance performances, residents and visitors will have a wide range of events to choose from during Dallas Arts Month."
