Dallas kicked off its 5th Annual Women’s Salute with more than a hundred local women gathering at the City Hall on March 6 to celebrate Women's History Month. These women, notable for their contributions to the community, were honored in an event that Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn King Arnold described as "womanhood multiplied... sharing, caring, laughing, learning and becoming stronger women because of it," according to the City of Dallas.

The salute, a tradition of recognizing female leadership and impact, was attended by a slate of city council members including Paula Blackmon, Kathy Stewart, Jaynie Schultz, and Gay Donnell Willis. Busy in their contributions to society, the event included women from all walks of life who have demonstrated relentless dedication and influence throughout Dallas.

City leaders and entrepreneurs made up the Host Committee, with figures such as Tanya Ragan of Wildcat Management and Dr. Elba Garcia, Dallas County Commissioner District 4, at the helm. Serving catering, the attendees were treated to a range of delicacies provided by A la Carte Catering, with budding talents from Faith Family Academy delighting the senses with floral arrangements.

Providing the soundtrack to the evening was musician Jess Garland of Swan Strings, and radio veteran DeDe McGuire kept the crowd engaged as the mistress of ceremonies. Mingling among past and present councilwomen, such as Monica Alonzo and Sandy Greyson, the event served as a reunion and a gesture of solidarity among Dallas' most influential women, wrapped in laughter interspersed with moments of reflection and camaraderie.
