Dallas law enforcement is seeking the public's help in a murder case that has remained unsolved for over seven years. The Dallas Police Department highlighted the case of 23-year-old Tamika White, tragically gunned down in 2016, to try to breathe new life into the stalled investigation.
On the evening of December 5, 2016, Tamika White was fatally shot while riding as a passenger in a vehicle along the 1300 block of S. Marsalis Avenue, the Dallas PD reported. An unknown assailant, firing from a separate vehicle now believed to be a gray Toyota Matrix with a sunroof, ended her life in a sudden act of violence.
The Dallas Police Department took to social media with a #ColdCaseTuesday post hoping to generate leads. Sergeant Otha Hampton of the Dallas PD is the lead investigator on the case, the long wait for justice has not deterred his dedication. Citizens with any knowledge related to Tamika White's death are urged to come forward and assist law enforcement in closing this chapter.
The persistence of officials echoes the sentiment of a community that has long awaited resolution for a case, that robbed them of a young woman in the prime of her life. The Dallas Police Department asks anyone with information to contact Sergeant Hampton at 214-671-3654 or via email at [email protected], making reference to case number 289430-2016. The hope is that the revisiting of Tamika White's case will lead to a break, bringing closure to her family and the Dallas community at large.
