Downtown Arlington to Host Free South Street Art Festival Celebrating a Decade of Culture and CreativitySource: City of Arlington, Texas

Culture vultures and audiophiles, get ready to paint the town as the South Street Art Festival gears up to hit Downtown Arlington with a kaleidoscope of creativity from April 5 through 7. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the vibrant affair, set to occupy the 300-500 blocks of E. South St. in the Downtown Cultural District—with a promise of an art-filled extravaganza that won't cost you a penny

As reported by an official Arlington City announcement, revelers can expect to stroll through an eclectic display of arts ranging from the local artistic flair to national crafts, all up for grabs—and perhaps, more importantly, for admiring. The event, which is a fixture in the local cultural calendar, will unfurl over the weekend with hours of awe; Friday kicks off from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to a more subdued 5 p.m.

"Come with an openness to seeing a variety of different styles of artwork,” Steve Moya from Moya Art Events urged, in a statement obtained by the City of Arlington, Texas, beckoning art enthusiasts to bask in the cultural diversity on offer. A musical lineup is poised to serve eargasms with performances by bands such as September Moon and The Vintage Yell.

For those whose appetites encompass more than just art and music, a smorgasbord of food options will be available, featuring mouth-watering offerings from vendors like Heaven’s Cakes and Sterling’s Barbecue. And yes, you can bring the pups along for the artistic ride and take a load off on your lawn chairs—but leave the homemade snacks and beverages at home, because outside food and coolers are a no-go in the festival grounds.
