In a dramatic turn of events, Fairfield law enforcement hit paydirt after a routine traffic stop escalated into a high-speed chase and ended with a hefty drug seizure. Officer Kennedy of the Fairfield, CA Police Department stopped a vehicle that was later found to be teeming with narcotics. The Fairfield Police detailed the incident in a Facebook post, noting that the two men inside the car were sitting in a miniature drug warehouse on wheels when they were approached.
The chain of events started when the driver, identified as Kristian Brenes, 27, opted to floor it instead of complying with a search. Officer Mroz stepped in with the well-timed deployment of spike strips, bringing the rogue vehicle to a decisive stop on Airbase Parkway — shy of the eastbound 80 on-ramp. Brenes, along with the 30-year-old passenger, Kyle Brenes, found themselves in cuffs shortly after.
Inside the vehicle, it was a veritable cornucopia of illicit substances and related paraphernalia. "There was a copious amount of marijuana, prescription pills, and other property indicative of narcotic sales located in the vehicle," the police reported.
