As the clock ticks towards the April 8 deadline, FEMA urges those hit by last August's brutal storms in nine Michigan counties to step up and stake their claim to disaster assistance. Impacted homeowners and renters in places like Wayne and Oakland can still get a crack at much-needed funds to rebuild their lives.
The Kemeny Recreation Center, where those battered by the storm can drop in, starting Monday, March 18, through Saturday, March 23. FEMA's mandate is clear: give folks a fighting chance to recover from an uncaring storm with face-to-face help.
"You may just need to provide additional information or documents to keep your application moving," advises a FEMA directive. They've even got a helpline at 800-621-3362.
