
Flames tore through a Motel 6 in Santa Rosa in the early hours of the morning, with firefighters battling to get the blaze under control, officials said. According to a Facebook post by the Santa Rosa Fire Department, the fire erupted shortly before 4 a.m. at the south location of the motel, with crews responding rapidly to the emergency calls.
The first responders arrived within five minutes, discovering a large fire blasting from the windows and doors of a ground-floor unit. During the firefighting efforts, it was discovered there was a victim with minor burn injuries in the office of the motel, who was then treated on the spot and quickly transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for further care.
Firefighters managed to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes, as they worked meticulously to ensure the blaze did not spread to adjoining rooms. The Santa Rosa Police Department and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office provided assistance, ensuring that all motel guests were evacuated and accounted for. The department confirmed that six motel rooms sustained significant smoke or water damage and the room where the fire started was completely destroyed.
The origin of the fire is currently being investigated by the Santa Rosa Fire Department, but it appears to be accidental. All occupants of the motel were relocated or provided assistance on site, with no further injuries reported, safety was the first priority as the fire department alongside law enforcement ensured the swift and orderly evacuation of all tenants in the complex.
