Fort Worth's own Heather Harper Ellett, author and licensed professional counselor, has devised a strategy to help keep the creative juices flowing, even when times are tough. Ellett is offering an interactive class designed to equip attendees with tools to foster creativity during challenging periods, drawing on approaches from narrative therapy and neuropsychology, as well as examples from popular novels tackling dark themes.

Fort Worth Public Library-Ridglea will host the event this upcoming Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m., as reported by the City of Fort Worth. For those who can't make it in person, a digital seat at the table is available via Zoom—a feature appealing to attendees from all walks of life.

The workshop's agenda includes constructing a "first aid kit" for preserving one's creative spark amidst turmoil and considering creativity itself as an act of hope in defiance of adversity. After Ellett's presentation, there will be a Q&A session where participants can delve deeper into the topic and engage directly with the author.

Beyond the guidance and interactive exercises, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase Ellett's award-winning novel, "Ain’t Nobody Nobody," which she will be signing copies of, after accidentally leaving behind a trail of pens that she was said to be using for the signing.
