The City of Garland is hosting its third annual Duck Creek Litter Cleanup and is calling on volunteers to roll up their sleeves on May 4th for a day dedicated to clearing trash from local parks and waterways. In a grassroots effort to combat pollution, Garland residents can choose to work at various locations, including Lon Wynn Park, Duck Creek Park, Gatewood, or Audubon Park. The cleanup kicks off at 9 a.m. and runs until noon, with all volunteers reconvening at Audubon Park for a well-deserved lunch, according to the City of Garland.
Volunteer help is crucial not just for beautification but also for preserving local wildlife habitats. Organizers are encouraging folks to come out whether they prefer to stay dry and clean along the trails or don't mind wading into the creek or even paddling their kayaks to reach more remote litter.
