The king of country George Strait is set to gallop back to his Texas roots for a special concert event. The "Amarillo By Morning" singer is making an appearance at Texas A&M University's Kyle Field on June 15, as confirmed by FOX San Antonio. Strait, who is part of country royalty, will share the stage with Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman in what's dubbed The King at Kyle Field.
As per details released by Today at TAMU, this concert is notably special, marking Strait's only scheduled performance in the Lone Star State for 2024. Fans itching to get their hands on tickets can circle March 28 on their calendars, as they become available to the public at 10 a.m. through the website thekingatkyle.com. On top of this, American Express cardholders get a head start with an early ticket sale starting March 22 at 10 a.m.
Aside from his date at Kyle Field, "The Chair" crooner is hitting the road with Chris Stapleton, embarking on a series of stadium shows across cities like Indianapolis, Chicago, and Detroit, kicking off May 4. Having sold over 105 million albums and boasting 60 No. 1 singles, Strait's illustrious career earned him a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame back in 2006, according to the sources.
In a move showing Kyle Field's versatility, the venue is also playing host to an international soccer match between Mexico and Brazil on June 8, just a week before Strait's performance. Hitting the pitch before the king takes the stage, tickets for the soccer showdown start selling April 5 at somoslocales.com, as part of the Mexican national men’s soccer team's five-city U.S. tour.
