A wanted suspect was snagged by quick-acting deputies in Harris County. According to a statement from the office of Constable Mark Herman, Zakeeyan Dean was the driver behind the wheel during a traffic stop on March 12 that would lead her straight to a cell.
The stop, which took place in the 13500 block of Kuykendahl Road, initially appeared to be a commonplace incident in the daily patrol of the deputies. However, as the officers dug a little deeper, conducting their due diligence, they discovered an open Misdemeanor Warrant for Theft clinging to Dean like a shadow that finally caught up to her.
The official social media account for Precinct 4 relayed the outcome of the incident, announcing, "Zakeeyan Dean was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant." This marked the end of a chase that Dean was perhaps not even aware she was a part of until that fateful stop.
Her bond, seeming almost a trivial sum in the grand scheme of her apprehension, was set at $502.00 out of County Court 3. The breaking news of Dean's arrest, while unlikely to dominate headlines, sheds light on the everyday diligence of local law enforcement, who ply the streets in search of justice, often finding it in the most unassuming moments.
