A routine traffic stop turned into a significant bust when Harris County deputies pulled over a man only to find he was wanted for theft. Johnny Turner, now in cuffs, was nabbed March 1 after a stop in the 4900 block of Fountainhead Drive, according to Constable Mark Herman's Office.
Revealed through a deeper probe, Johnny Turner was found to have an outstanding warrant for theft. Not the smartest day for Turner, who's now facing the music, the vehicle was just a catalyst for the discovery of his past deeds.
Harris County deputies might not have known when they initiated the stop, but they soon uncovered that the driver in question was more than just a traffic violator. In a statement gleaned from Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page, "Johnny Turner was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant. His bond was set at $101.00 out of County Court 15."
Deceptively benign, the theft charges Turner faces aren't detailed, but with bail set at a mere $101, the sum belies the gravity of being on the wrong side of the law. Charged with an existing warrant, Harris County Jail is where he'll stay until he manages to post bond or otherwise resolves his case.
