A suspect led law enforcement on a wild chase after deputies attempted a routine traffic stop earlier this week in Harris County. Carvalho Collin, the driver of the vehicle, refused to pull over when signalled by Constable deputies in the 20100 block of the North Freeway, sparking a brief but intense pursuit. The Constable's Office said that the episode concluded with deputies managing to halt Collin's attempted escape, and he was taken into custody, according to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page.
Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, it ended without any report of injuries or damages however, it is incidents like these that punctuate the nightly news with their cinematic flares. After Collin's arrest, he was charged and processed, "Carvalho Collin was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Eluding," Constable Mark Herman detailed in a statement, confirming the consequence of Collin's alleged actions and the subsequent bail amount. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 12.
Information about Collin’s legal representation or any additional charges was not immediately available, as the investigation into the events leading up to the pursuit is still ongoing. Such details often emerge during legal proceedings, which can sometimes overshadow the chase itself. The Constable's Office and locals share a desire for safe roads, and the swift conclusion of this incident may provide reassurance that even brief pursuits are handled with urgency and a focus on minimizing harm to all involved.
