In a bust over bargain-priced booty, Houston authorities cuffed a suspected shoplifter for purloining more than $373 worth of goods from the Houston Premium Outlets. Constable deputies swooped in on March 1 after getting wind of the high-handed heist, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's precinct.
Deputies arrived on the scene to find that, bypassing cash registers with the stealth of a seasoned swiper, the suspect had allegedly stashed items with the intent of leaving without laying down a cent. Shataria Banks, the woman identified behind the alleged theft, soon found herself in the firm grip of the law.
The recovered merch, which had briefly enjoyed unwarranted freedom under Banks' care, was promptly returned to its rightful retail home. "Shataria Banks was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft," Constable Mark Herman declared in the social media briefing. "Her bond has not been set at this time out of County Court 9."
Details about the purloined products or Bank's motives remained under wraps, while the bond amount awaited a judicial nod as of press time. As her court date looms, the Harris County Jail currently lists Banks as an unwanted guest, her stay courtesy of the constable's deputies and their commitment to keeping the shopping sanctuary at the Houston Premium Outlets a theft-free zone.
