
A Houston Chevron gas station clerk was shot and killed, triggering a citywide manhunt for the three gunmen responsible. The fatal encounter occurred at the gas station located at 8524 Gulf Freeway, as confirmed by the Houston Police Department.
Responding to a distressing call around 1:30 am, officers arrived to find the clerk had suffered at least one gunshot wound ending his life. Surveillance footage captures a grim tableau: one suspect initially backs into the store, closely followed by two accomplices who rapidly commence firing upon the clerk, according to FOX 26 Houston. The clerk, reportedly armed during this confrontation, it is yet to be determined whether he managed to fire back before succumbing to his injuries.
The authorities have yet to apprehend the suspects involved in this deadly incident. The Houston Police Department continues to appeal to the public, urging anyone with information pertaining to the shooting to come forward and aid in the ongoing investigation.
Revelations by HPD Lt. Wilkins, as recounted to KHOU, suggest that there were no customers present at the time of the shooting. "There were no customers no. Actually, one of the individuals that called in was here and actually heard gunshots and called it in as hearing gunshots but he did see three," said Wilkins. The circumstances leading up to the shooting, and the potential involvement of the clerk's weapon, remain to be fully understood as the investigation unfolds.
The suspects remain at large.
