JoDan Shelton has climbed the ranks to become the new Animal Services Foreman for the City of Euless, a position he recently stepped into after years of dedicated service which began in August 2007. Starting as an Animal Control Officer II in 2015, Shelton has consistently demonstrated his proficiency and commitment toward animal welfare and regulation enforcement. In November, he took on his current role, to directly oversee the shelter's daily grind, making sure local animal regulations are strictly enforced, and the welfare of the creatures under his jurisdiction is prioritized.

His expertise isn't just bookish. Shelton has his hands full with certifications that range from Euthanasia Technician to Canine Behavior. He is even recognized as a Texas Certified Cruelty Investigator, which speaks directly to his hands-on experience in the field. In his new role, he's expected to almost seamlessly integrate his skills with operational procedures to enhance the shelter's performance. Partnering with the local community and volunteers, including teams from Trinity Gap and Euless Shelter Cats, Shelton will be directly involved with those who have dedicated themselves to sustaining this cornerstone of local animal care.

Major Jones, the city's Director of Public Works, didn't hold back his praise in a statement reported by the City of Euless. "JoDan has a tremendous amount of experience, knowledge, and training related to animal services, animal safety, and the associated state laws that govern such care," he was quoted as saying. Jones highlighted Shelton's admirable rapport with his colleagues, expressing confidence in his leadership abilities and future contributions to the division.

With a towering stack of responsibilities now on his shoulders, including licenses, impounding, quarantine measures, and more, JoDan will also navigate to closely work with the local community groups dedicated to supporting shelter operations. These partnerships are critical, not only for the day-to-day function of the shelter but also for maintaining a relationship with the public and ensuring a broad network of care that extends beyond the shelter's walls. The city of Euless can surely look forward to an era of continued improvement and innovation in its animal services under Shelton's watch.
