The massive 1.03 million square-foot complex, poised to nestle at the southeast corner of Avenue M & 10th St. West, will reportedly usher in 800 to 1,000 full-time jobs, offering positions ranging from entry-level to management, according to the city's announcement.
With the trade winds of innovation and economic growth on their sail, Palmdale officials aim to mitigate the commuter plight for more than 70,000 local residents. "Our region currently has over 70,000 commuters, so local job creation at the food and distribution facility will have a tremendous impact on the lives of those that may no longer need to commute," explained 1st District Councilmember Austin Bishop, discussing how fewer commutes can indeed improve family time quality, as stated on the aforementioned press release. Alongside the job-creating boon, the city-insisted developments will include a significant revamp of the adjoining roadways, ensuring enhanced safety and accessibility through road, sidewalk, curb, and gutter improvements, and bike paths.
